  Kissing Domestic Violence Good-bye

Mary Kay brought more that 30 of the hottest names in country music together in the A Kiss for Country campaign to benefit the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation.

As The Official Beauty Sponsor of the 2007 Country Music Association Awards, Mary Kay Inc. collected kiss prints and autographs from the stars for a unique online auction held in late 2007. The artists’ framed kiss prints and autographs raised approximately $10,000 for the Foundation to support domestic violence programs. The Foundation will also award grants in 2008 of $20,000 in each participating artist's name to a domestic violence shelter in his or her state.

Foundation Holds Event
at the Childhood Home of
Mary Kay Ash

The Houston childhood home of Mary Kay Ash provided an historic backdrop for a multifaceted event on Jan. 23, 2008. Standing on the porch of the beautifully restored home, Anne Crews, vice president of government relations, presented a $20,000 donation from the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation to the Houston Area Women’s Center. The donation will help the Houston Area Women’s Center in its work to prevent domestic violence.

At the same event, the Mayor Pro Tem of Houston declared it Mary Kay Day and presented the Company with the key to the city. As a gesture of gratitude to Houston for hosting the Company’s annual Leadership Conference, Mary Kay Inc. made a $20,000 donation to the Old Sixth Ward Neighborhood Association – the historic area where the Mary Kay Ash childhood home is located. The Old Sixth Ward is the oldest intact neighborhood in Houston and the first to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The donation is the largest in the Association’s history.

The Foundation Logo
Lights up Times Square
The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation logo lit up New York over the busy 2007 Thanksgiving holiday. Four stories high above the streets of Times Square, the Reuters Building’s video screens – all 23 stories and 7,400 square feet of them – featured the Foundation logo. The logo appeared four times from Nov. 19 to Nov. 21 during peak rush hour, giving the Foundation logo maximum exposure in the Big Apple.
