Mary Kay is committed to helping women whose safety and self-esteem are threatened due to violence. By raising awareness of this issue, we can foster understanding and give hope and help to women affected by violence. The goal of Mary Kay is to break the silence on violence against women by providing resources that promote a greater understanding of the issue and affect social change.

	Brochures to Download There are several brochures available from the American Bar Association Commission on Domestic Violence, in conjunction with the MKACF, to help further the understanding of the issue of violence against women. We encourage you to read and print a copy of the brochures below to share with a friend, customer or family member as appropriate. To guard the safety of others, we recommend that you do not e-mail the brochure to anyone who may be dealing with domestic violence. 	National Domestic Violence Hotline 800-799-SAFE (7233) To raise awareness and champion zero tolerance of dating violence among teens, the National Domestic Violence Hotline offers the Love is Respect program. It works to implement abuse prevention strategies among teens on a national level. The helpline numbers are 1-866-331-9474 \| 1-866-331-8453 TTY. Or visit the Web Site at www.loveisrespect.org. Together, the Love is Respect helpline and Web Site provide 24-hour assistance to teens and parents seeking help and guidance about intimate-partner violence. Open year-round, the trained staff provides counseling and referral services to all, free of charge. The multilingual staff offers crisis intervention, referrals to domestic violence and other emergency shelters and programs in every state, plus links callers to a nationwide database on domestic violence. www.ndvh.org Staffed by trained Peer Advocates, the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline is operated by the NDVH. They can be contacted by phone at 1-866-331-9474 or (1-866-331-8453 TTY) or through an online chat option available online from 4pm - 2am CST. 	Phone Number Referral Cards Here's an easy way to help women in need and promote the work of the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. Print out these phone number referral cards onto business card stock on your home printer and hand them out to friends, customers and acquaintances in need. One card offers a toll-free number for cancer information from CancerCare. The other card offers a toll-free number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline. 	The Family Violence Prevention Fund The Family Violence Prevention Fund works to prevent violence within the home, and in the community, to help those whose lives are devastated by abuse, because every person has a right to live in a home free of violence. The FVPF works to prevent violence and end abuse of women and children in several ways: through public education and information, targeted media campaigns and by helping to develop legislation to protect victims of violence and abuse. www.endabuse.org

	Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence Mary Kay Inc. is a member of this national nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the costs and consequences of partner violence at work — and eliminating it altogether. From policies and programs to legal issues and legislation, CAEPV is a credible source for information, materials and advice. www.caepv.org

	National Coalition Against Domestic Violence Formed in 1978, the NCADV is the oldest national organization representing grassroots organizations and individuals working to assist and empower battered women and their children. NCADV serves as a national information and referral center to the public, the media, battered women and children, agencies and organizations. www.ncadv.org

	National Network to End Domestic Violence The National Network to End Domestic Violence is a membership and advocacy organization of state domestic violence coalitions, allied organizations and supportive individuals. A small group that began in 1990, the NNEDV developed policy that would become folded into the Violence Against Women Act of 1994. The Safety NET project, supported by the MKACF, is an NNEDV program.
